Issue with Pause| Break key send in 1.6
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:00:02 AM »
Hi,

A bug to report for version 1.6:

I have existing sets of profiles that make use of commands with keypress send for the PAUSE | BREAK key.
In VA 1.6 these are no longer functioning. The pause key commands are not sent [ EDIT: I should rephrase perhaps a key is sent but it is no longer received/recognized by the target application (DCS) ]. Changing target window etc.
makes no difference. Up to version 1.5.18 these commands were working without problems.

Thanks

I'm testing the VK codes returned by VoiceAttack for the Pause/Break key versus the hardware Pause/Break key and I am seeing the same results.  So, I'm not exactly sure what is going on with your setup o_O

Thanks for looking into this. The same issue is reported by other VAICOM users on this thread which is how it came to my attention.

So I'm guessing it's not specific to my setup.

All these users do use the same receiving application i.e. DCS, and they use VAICOM profiles that were created in VA 1.5.x. versions. Since this used to be a DirectX keysend and there has been a change in this area, could it be related to that perhaps? In the VA manual page 113 I saw a reference specifically to what seems like a change with the PAUSE key. N.B. All other keysends seem to work fine.

Cheers

The Pause key is not what was affected...  the Quick Input [PAUSE] indicator was removed and replaced with an inline function [PAUSE:seconds].

I'll dig into it and see if there's something amiss.

The virtual Pause key sent by VA is interpreted by DCS as the Numlock key.

You'll find that "Numlock" actually sends "Pause" instead.

I checked some older versions; In v1.5.7 and v1.5.8, this still worked correctly("Pause" was "Pause", "Z" was "Z"). From v1.5.12(the closest version to v1.5.8 still available) onward, it does not("Pause" is "Numlock" and "Z" is "W").

I think I got the Pause/Numlock issue worked out.  'Z' and 'W' seem to be OK for me in Elite Dangerous.

I put a build out in the, 'unofficial' bin if you would like to try it without waiting for the next beta:

In DCS, Pause and Numlock are correct in 1.6.1.16, 'Z' and 'W' are still swapped.
